Variable Shifts, 7am-11pm. HS education or equivalent. Successful completion of basic Nursing Assistant program and Certification as Nursing Assistant required. Demonstrates self-motivation and the ability to work productively without direct supervision. Must have the ability to work under pressure. Must be able to relate to patients, staff, and visitors. Ability to read and write and do basic mathematical computations. Effective written and oral communication skills, demonstrate ability to effectively utilize beeper, cell phone and walkie-talkie, transfer equipment. Ability to perform routine repetitive duties using several well defined procedures under close supervision of the Registered Nurse. Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the Patient Transporter is responsible for the transportation of patient and material to and from the patient care units and other hospital departments utilizing pre-defined response criteria in a timely and professional manner, effectively assigns transporters to patient care transport requests when functioning in the dispatcher role. Under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse, the certified nursing assistant performs various duties in the care and treatment of patients in accordance with established methods and procedures of the Medical Center.
Info regarding Casual & Per diem Requirement: Casual: must work 24 hours per month. No benefits. No required weekend or holiday shifts. Per diem: must work a minimum of 12 hours per pay period and in addition: one weekend per month, one summer holiday and one winter holiday. No benefits.
Info regarding the medication test: Employment at Beebe Medical Center for a nurse requires that you pass a medication adminitration test. To prepare for this test, review calculations of medication dosages, IV drip rates, administration of insulin, the effects, and adverse effects of medication. An 80% is the acceptable pass rate.

Information relating to employee's performance
Child Abuse Investigations: Effective 1/1/98, the Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families, Office of Child Care requires that persons seeking employment in a healthcare facility shall submit to a Child Abuse Registry check. A search of the Child Abuse Registry will be conducted to determine if the person is a perpetrator in any substantiated cases of child abuse or neglect.
Adult Abuse Registry: Effective 1/1/98, for persons seeking employment, the Delaware Health and Social Services, Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities requires that the Adult Abuse Registry provide information regarding adult abuse or neglect.
Fingerprinting: For persons seeking employment in Home Health, Peach Tree Acres, Gull House or our long term care facility, Lewes Convalescent Center, the Delaware Health and Social Services, Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities requires fingerprinting on each new employee. Fingerprinting will be completed in Employment.
